Best of 3 means if you win 2 out of 3 games, you win.

Well yeah, but it's possible that 3 people can win 2 out of 3 if there are 4 players.

If you win 2 out of 3 and Zechs wins 2 out of 3 you face in the finals I would assume

Yeah, but you're missing the point. It's possible for 3 people to win 2 out of 3.

Here's an example.

A vs B - A wins

C vs D - C wins

A s C - C wins

B vs D - B wins

C vs B - B wins

A vs D - A wins

A, B and C end up with 2 wins and 1 loss, D loses 3 times.
