Trouble with Windows. (Windows 7) Empty
PostSubject: Trouble with Windows. (Windows 7)   Trouble with Windows. (Windows 7) EmptyDecember 2nd 2010, 2:17 am

So this started only tonight when my PC tried to install a update. Like as usual the update required a restart of the PC. When I restarted, everything looked normal until Windows failed to start. It then gave me the options to (1) Start Windows Recovery (recommended) and (2) Start Windows Normally. Option 2 results in Windows failing to start, so I did the recovery.

Problem is, Windows can't fix the problem. So I have to do the recovery every time I start my PC. Do I have to reinstall Windows, or can this be fixed?

Try this on for size:

Access safe mode by pressing F8 when your computer starts and get into safe mode.
Scan for viruses, spyware, and all sorts of shit in safe mode. In safe mode, not a whole lot of things operate so this makes scanning and virus destroying easier and more effective.
If it doesn't work, try to access the restore point to get to an earlier time in your computer. You know prior to the update.

Thanks for the info.

I shut the PC down completely for overnight. It started regularly in the morning and I did a full virus scan. One virus was detected.
