Now, I know that there's a topic called "favorite movies." However, there is that one movie out of all the movies we've seen no matter how good, how bad, or how childish it is, there's a part of us that loves that movie. So, I ask you, what is your all time favorite movie? Just that one favorite that makes it different from the other favorites that you have.
For me, it's Fantasia. I loved it as a kid, and I still love it to this day! Now, I like a movie that has a plot and good character development, but it's just nice when I can tell the story myself through pictures and music. I researched Fantasia a little while ago and I found out that it was released in 1940 in theaters in "Fantasound." You thought IMAX 3D was impressive? Well, this is Fantasound! Also, the original cut was 3 hours long. However, every 10 years, Disney either adds, cuts, or edits Fantasia. For instance, the movie is like 2 hours long, right? Well, the other hour is lost footage never to be seen again. But every 10 years, they find a new clip and add it in the movie. Fantasia 2000 realeased in 2000. (obviously) were original ideas to be used in the original 3 hour cut, but never was made until 60 years later. There have been some other cuts of the original 1940 Fantasia film. For instance, Walt Disney himself added his voice into a later cut, then it was removed. Some racial scenes were replaced over time (like the black centaur with the big lips and nappy hair). It may seem like Disney is fucking with us by changing the film every 10 years, but I find it to be a neat experiment for what they're doing. Maybe some day, the original cut may be found and the original 3 hour long film may be re-released, but hell, this is the only thing Disney, in all their corporate greediness, has done right that wasn't just a cash in.

I'd probably have to say Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. I can't believe all the hate towards the film, because there's no reason for it. The main reason is jarjarmfksflsmfslfmsfj. He hardly has much role time anyway so who cares? The other one is Return of the King.

I'd probably have to go with The Lion King. It's one of the few movies that I can watch anytime without saying something like "I'm not in the mood to watch it", and it's one of the first movies I remember watching. Plus it had some great music like this:
Mulan comes in at a close 2nd for me though.

I am not sure. Goodfellas and Godfather (part 1 and 2) are some of my favorites.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

My vote goes toward The Lion King.
What made it special was that it was the very first movie I've ever seen and it was absolutely outstanding. It seems as Disney polished the movie into perfection and had the pure intentions of capturing everyone's heart and giving a movie a new sort of identity. For me, that is the case.
It's one movie I would never get tired of watching.

Truth be told that wasn't always the case. Apparently everyone really wanted to do their "bigger project" at the time which was Pocahontas. Sucks to be the team working on that because Lion King turned out to be the bigger and better picture in the end. Who knew adapting elements from Hamlet and the story of Moses would making such a great film about lions? And it is definitely my favourite one too(hell, most of the Disney renaissance films are).
Speaking of TLK, anyone looking forward to its Blu-ray release this year?
It's pretty neat how this year's two Diamond Editions are both Bambi and TLK because TLK was basically "Bambi in Africa" as its producers put it. I just hope The Lion King's special features are actually filled with good stuff this time and that it actually has some big "Making Of" featurette.
For Disney's top grossing traditionally animated film, it seems to be neglected a lot with its merchandise(it's whole musical score was never officially released, the previous Platinum Edition's special features sucked, etc.).

Some of those aren't Disney. Balto was Amblimation(which would be succeeded by DreamWorks), Black Beauty and The Iron Giant were Warner Bros.(the latter was directed by Brad Bird, though, who went on to do some Pixar films), and Anastasia was Fox(directed by Don Bluth).

Damn straight. I found our video when I was cleaning recently but we don't have a working VCR any more. Naturally I promptly downloaded it, it's just as amazing as when I was a kid.

Seriously? I gotta go VCR hunting. Luckily we have a DVD/VCR dual player now that we've had for the past year and a half or so. It's totally worth it when you find some great movies lying around on VCR. When my power was out and we had a generator, I found the first Inspector Gadget movie which was awesome.
