Do you go by the manga for Dragon Ball Z? I go by the show anime because it was created by Akira Toriyama who created the manga. The only thing different is the filler for the anime. But it was all made by the same person. I think the filler was an awesome thing to add.

Without the filler, the anime would be very choppy.

Although I'd like to agree with you, there are false statements in your post.

Akira Toriyama created the manga of Dragon Ball. Dragon Ball is the mixture of DB and DBZ but called DB. He did not create the anime though, I'm afraid. The anime was done by toei animation. They are the ones that added the filler into the anime, not Akira. They took it a step further by getting the rights to make GT (Note why they don't have a manga for GT.) Proof of this is in Akira's bio. He was never an anime creator and ONLY did manga.

Although it is proper to follow the manga, I like the anime better and liked the filler they added into it and music and all. I have no problem, but the anime isn't considered canon.

I don't go by the manga or the anime necessarily. I just try to enjoy them both, damn it. Laughing

I watch the anime if I'm too lazy to read. Most of the time I read the manga though.

DBK doesn't take out all the filler, do they?

It does. Only a very few bits and pieces are left in.

To give you an idea, the last episode that aired was episode 19 and it had Freeza's official introduction on Namek. In Z this happened in episode 44.

They already did that shit in the Cell saga. Vegeta and Trunks both needed an entire episode to become USSJ. Cell needed an entire episode to become Perfect too.
