| I've tried quite a few games with her over the past year or two but none where she can actually get into them and play them at a decently competent level. She's 7 right now. Can anyone recommend me some games that even an inept person could play? And of course they have to be child friendly but none of that barbie girly shit. |

| List some of the games you've tried, and I'll see what I can come up with (if any). |

| I've tried the original Sonics, Mario Tennis, Mario Kart and I think something else. I tried Mario Kart Wii today and it was a disaster. I couldn't believe it. |

| A. She's only 7. I don't think I was any good at video games until I was close to 13(?) years old. B. The only thing I can recommend at this time would be the Wii Sports games. C. Let her watch you play. That's pretty much how I learned everything. |

| Jak and Daxter is far too difficult for her. She's pretty horrible at platforming and has no real sense of direction. The closest thing she got to getting decent at was Mario Tennis for N64. |

Really? i thought the first one was pretty easy. The frirst sly game is pretty easy too. i didn't list many RPGs sadly as most will take you back to the title screen when playing which might be frustrating to some. Maybe give her a simple fighting game like Tekken or Virtua Fighter. Or maybe something like Golden axe or Streets of rage. |

Jak and Daxter isn't hard, but to someone who can't even stay on a simple Mario Kart course, it would be like the original Ninja Gaiden. |

Is she mentally challenged? |

One can only wonder. She gets A's in school at least. I think she might need more time than others to develop those type of motor skills. |

| Racing games are easiest for a starter I can imagine. A basic racing game (without drifting or other alt challenges) really only need 3 buttons. Gas, break, steer.
Up from that give her a basic level shooter. Buy that I mean a game that is fairly easy and doesn't require that much skill. It'll teach her basic control and how to aim. A example is 007 Nightfire (on versus/dual it's just a straight up shooter, nothing special to it), or hell, even Cold Winter. What makes that game easy is it has infinite health packs. The majority of the game is a straight forward shooter as well. I admit I enjoy it, but I also admit it's pretty easy.
For fighters, hmm, only basic thing among them is button mashers, sadly they in no way train you for combo fighting games. So something like Urban Reign is a enjoyable button masher, but it won't train her skills for anything harder, so yea, fighters would be the toughest for her to adopt to. At least with racing and shooting you can gradually move her into games requiring more skill. |

| I feel for you, man. My cousin sucks at games, period! Try playing Super Mario Bros on the NES and he'll die on the first or second enemy on the first level. He'll say it's too hard. When I was his age, I had a hard time beating games, sure. But I never gave up. he gives up easily. So trust me, my friend. I know what it's like. Kids are spoiled by today's graphics and 3D environments: They need to go back to the past: Back when gaming was oh-so fine! |

| I try to give her a good mix of retro and modern. I've had her play the first two Sonics via Mega collection, N64 and Wii. I don't have any PS3 games that would suit her though hah. |

| SSX Tricky if you have it. Tell her to hold X and stay out of the deep snow. After a while you can get her doing tricks.
Or give her Madden 06 on rookie. If she fails that, it's hopeless.
Soul Calibur II is another good choice. Same with Super Smash Bros Melee. _________________ MFUA2 Awards: - Spoiler:

If she can't stay on course on Mario Kart Wii, she won't stay on course with SSX. And also she doesn't understand football. I've tried SSB and she kept falling. |

At least with SSX, she can accidentally run into a shortcut. And the track is simple - go downhill. _________________ MFUA2 Awards: - Spoiler:

| Get C64 Emulator, 2 joysticks, Super Mario/Giana Sisters, Bubble Bobble, Pit Stop 2, Spy vs Spy (any game), Battle Ships, Elephant Antic (for 2 players, so you can support her).
Play WITH her. Let her win from time to time. She will learn, she will enjoy it and she will become capable of gaming.
Old games are the best for such training. |
