Gamecube had third party games, which is a huge plus over the N64. Some of the greats of N64 also got ported to Gamecube. I prefer the controller for GC and obviously the graphics. I know a lot of people didn't like GC, but I found it to be a great successor to the N64.

64.

While the controller was odd. The games was fun. I remember playing Vigilante 8 and MK4 for hours on end. Plus the old super Mario, Smash Bro and Mario Party was fun to.

By the time of the GC I hadn't really cared to keep buying Mario. I had the PS2 with a better controller design, lots of great games, and had pretty much every mutli-platform game on it.

GC offered me no incentive to buy it. Then Nintendo went downhill ever since with Wii and Wii U.
