| This time I found out I have HDD problems. I'm about to attempt to fix it. I have a theory, but I'm gonna list the problem I'm occurring just in case anyone else here experiences it in the future.
So I had to move my PS3 yesterday and I was able to play on it for a little bit in the new spot, but I got some constant freezing and my data got corrupted eventually. So now it took a long time to restore the content but halfway through it froze and I had to unplug it. Now when I turn it on, it makes a clicking noise and a beeping noise and doesn't start. This morning I tried again to see if it was an overheating problem. It was not, as it still did so but actually stopped the beeping and clicking and gave me an error message stating that the storage can't be found.
So my theory is that when I moved the PS3, the HDD got jostled and so I'm about to open up the PS3, clean the HDD and then try to place it in again correctly. HOPEFULLY it works that way. I have a shit ton of Dark Souls data that I really don't want to lose, as well as a shit ton of other data that I REEEEEAAALLY don't want to lose. *Crosses fingers*

| Welp, My PS3 is shot...again. And I don't have the financial leniency to pay the servicing fee. I guess I'll be without a PS3 for a little while. | |

| What PS3 do you have? One of the original models, the slim model or the ultra slim with the sliding disc tray?
I've heard of HDD problems with the early models, wasn't that what the whole yellow light (YLOD) was about, HDD warping and failure?? The newer ultra slims seem to freeze more easily but I haven't heard much about them.
Only ones I have no idea on is the first slim, the model I have. I just wanna know if I can expect this happening in my foreseeable future. | |

| Same model I have then. That's a little concerning. Here's hoping that issue isn't system wide. | |

| The best advice I can give you is to not move your PS3 often. And if you do, do it very gently. I had to move my PS3 and I suspect that is where the problem came. I was gentle but it appears either the HDD is shot or the connectors to the HDD are shot. | |

| Okay, so the problem was definitely the hard drive, not its connectors. The major issue here is that the hard drive was shot. I think it was that it got damage when I moved my PS3, even though I was gentile with it. Anyway, I got a replacement hard drive and everything is working. Just make sure if you have the same problem and you get a new hard drive that you have a flash drive that has 200mbs free so it can have the new update software. | |
