VGX.............Oh god, the VGX

So the VGAs this year did something a little different. Change the name to VGX and made even 1000x more awful.

I mean last years VGA was bad, but atleast the games shown off was good and the shocker was that the Walking Dead won GOTY and seem like effort was put. This year............Oh god.

The show looked cheap, it felt cheap, it look something was done last minute. The host was making stupid sex jokes every 10 seconds and the games and "world premieres" were just bad or unimpressed, especially Nintendo's "grand reveal," which turned out to be Cranky Kong, which makes me think that Nintendo has officially lost it..

GOTY was GTA 5, not too surprised, but was only the thing that was redeemable, but that's not much.

Social media crap was, well, crap.

Those who won the awards were acceptable. I am also glad Ni No Kuni was RPG of the year, which makes me proud of gamers a little more. I thought Fire Emblem or FF14 would of won, but that the biggest shocker in my eye.

But other than that, show was utter garbage.

Ni No Kuni won, huh? I played the first five or so hours of the story and I honestly couldn't get into it that much. It was a good game though. Fire Emblem is unfortunately a niche audience although it should be way more mainstream than it is.

I thought Fire Emblem was more mainstream than Ni No Kuni. It thought the look of Ni No Kuni would turn gamers off, but I guess I was wrong.

Actually, you're correct. FE is more mainstream. I dunno. Maybe it just got a lot of bandwagon hype at the end. To be honest, it is very off putting. It was just hard to get into for me. The mechanics seemed pretty solid though.

I'd argue Ni No Kuni is more mainstream. Sure FE is well known amongst gamers, but loads of people would've bought Ni No Kuni for Studio Ghibli's input.

I can't say which is more mainstream just giving you food for thought. I'd have considered both to be niche. I don't think I knnow anyone in person who knows what fire emblem or Ni No Kuni is.

Well, whatever the case, I have a faith stored a little more into gamers, they could of just voted for FF14RR since FF is the more mainstream, but that could because FF14 was a mess in the beginning, kind of throw off FF14RR chances of winning.

Besides the show itself, the awards were pretty good for the most part. I knew GTA V was going to win GOTY. Not saying GTA V isn't no contender, since 4 was so SUPER SERIOUS BUSINESS. They fix everything wrong with GTA IV, made some new changes and gave me a good story. Other than the helicopter (Jesus christ, is Saints Row the only one that can do this right?) and the multiplayer.

FF is bombing pretty hard these days anything with FF 7 attached to it would likely win GOTY without anyone thinking.

Completely agree almost every game i play has atrocious controls for helicopters. i liked the Vice city controls for helicopter doubt we'll see those in a game again.

People considers FF10 the last acceptable FF game. That was released in 2001 or 2002................a decade ago.

And once people realized that FFX was too popular, a lot of people turned on the game and started calling it terrible.  

Yeah i wonder what people's reaction will be after they buy the HD collection (i ordered it to), but i wasn't a fan of th games I thought I might give them a chance.
