Ok game so far, but this mission where you have to escape the sinking sentential ship is really pissing me the hell off. For some reason I can't get Ice Man to consistently make Ice Bridges from platform to platform. I got him to do it once so far. If it's not him then it's losing Cyclops in the water. Without Cyclops I can't weld together Jean's repairs on the ship, causing me to run out of time. And if it's neither of them, it's me getting lost in the fucking ships hall ways while looking for the next exit.
*sigh*, wish I had a Infinite Time cheat for this level. XD lol I know exactly what your're talking about. That level made me say fuck the game and trade it in. Now I'm worried I may of fucked it up. There is a save point half way through, reading the FAQ on GameFAQ's it says you want to have 10 minutes or more at that save point or don't save. I hadn't even spotted the timer at first, I've already saved at that point with under 2 minutes remain....... Fuck... *sigh* the Action Replay don't have a time code either. I got to borrow the Gameshark and pray there is Infinite Time on that, or I may have to restart the fucking story mode all over. That, would suck.

| it is alot like WoW and DAoC if you have played those two MMO's. They could also be considered as MMORPG's as well. I enjoy the gamepley the most. If you ever get into it, the games goes F2P in November. You do have to still purchase your account with a one time fee of $14.99 though, unless you want to continue month to month subscriptions. You could get alot of the updated information about it on SWTOR.com

| About 10 hours into Final Fantasy XIII. I'll voice my opinion so far. - Spoiler:
Lightning: Typical tsundere, girl Cloud, etc etc etc. Neutral about her so far. I like how she attacks though in battle.
Sahz: He's alright, I guess. If he's supposed to be comic relief, he's not doing a very good job at it. One or two funny moments but not too many. Otherwise, he's probably my second favorite in the group.
Snow: Best character so far. Cool character design, although strangely enough this design is somewhat similar to KH2 Seifer. His major character flaw is in his dialogue, being pretty redundant with him calling out "Serah!". Other than that, I like him. Troooooy Baker.
Vanille: *Looks up on wiki* She's 19? I thought she was in the 15-16 range based on her personality. Neutral towards her, although her VA is bad.
Hope: Don't like yet, but is getting better since he decided to start toughening up. If he stops blaming Snow for his mother's own choices, he might be somewhat redeemable.
The battle system has its ups and downs. I kind of like the paradigm system where you can focus on different battle strategies at different times. But by the same token, it can get tedious to switch paradigms a lot when you need to (i.e to heal and go balls out attacking in quick succession). I don't like the health on some of these monsters that makes a normal battle take forever. And some of them have strong stagger points so it takes forever to do that if you're in a party of 2. Don't like the Technical Point system that much. It could use some ironing out. Sometimes the battles don't reward you for playing safe or smart, but just because you kept attacking and risked dying you get 5 stars.
I don't mind the Crystarium system. Similar to the Sphere Grid, but I don't think that's a bad thing, trying to build off a good system (Get at me, FFX haters).
Don't like the minimal gil you get. Also, I'm going to have to look up some guides on upgrading weapons and accessories. Don't like the fact that it's all trial and error. It was perfectly fine on FFX, where you know exactly what you're getting when you customized.
The linearity of the maps is minor, but still present. I think it's over-emphasized in negative reviews and treated like a game-breaking issue. I think they could have done more with the maps, but whatever. The scenery is generally pretty good and the cut scenes are spectacular in quality.
So far, the story isn't incredibly interesting. A lot of the plot points I'm not caring about yet. It's not the worst story though. I'm still playing it, so that's a good sign.
Oh, and don't bombard me with "____ gets better/worse as you go along". Remember, this is a preliminary opinion. It's supposed to be ignorant of future events. Note that I did use yet a few times, to keep things open ended.

| There's an Excel file out there somewhere that acts as a calculator for the upgrade system. I can't find it from my current location, but I'll try to find it for you when I get home.
Also, watch out for synthesized abilities, such as the physical wall or such. They will be boss in certain areas.
As far as the gil thing is concerned, I will say that there is a phenomenal spot for grinding in the final chapter. I'll show you how to do it when you hit that point, as well as a streamlined method of upgrading that'll be possible at that point.
Only other thing I have to say is that if you're not using multiple saves, be sure you do. You don't have to go crazy with them, but I'd keep at least one or two per chapter. Just to be on the safe side.

Think you might Plat FFXIII? Nope. I'm only borrowing XIII and XIII-2. I'll get whatever trophies I get throughout the story and then that'll be that, unless I'm so blown away by the games that I feel the need to get it myself or something.
