How much longer do you think Sony will support the Playstation 2 console?

How long will Playstation 2 keep getting games ported to it?

And who will likely have the last Playstation 2 game? (common guesses are THQ with WWE titles, or EA with a sports title such as Madden)

I think it's about time we can do this. The console was out since 2000, it has 11 years under it's belt. Has sold side by side with PS3 since 06 (or was PS3 07?). They can only milk the console for money for so long, so yea.

It's tough to say. I don't think much longer. I give it maybe a year at best.

If Sony releases a new console and the PS2 is still on the market, I'm gonna start scratching my head on why they're still selling a console, now going on 10 years. Then again, the Atari 2600 lasted a damn near 15 years.

Half a year probably. Especially with the stuff coming out for PS3 this year.

I can't believe PS2 is still selling at a big enough gain for Sony to keep the console going. I mean, 11 years, now $99, usually $20 games. Hell, it's so cheap many people (myself included) has brought a second one for backup when my aging fat dies.

I mean, I can see the software (games etc) selling for... pfft years online. But where are the console sales going? Has PS2 lasted so long, that it's converting XBOX and Nintendo fans lmao.

Any Sony fan has got better odds of having a PS2 then not having one at this point. lol

The only reason they "let go" was because the X-Box and the Gamecube where complete flops.

The PS2 is the best selling console of all time and even today is selling quite well.

PS2 deserves a lot of credit. It has lasted for 11 years and is still a kicking system, but it's slowly dying. I still have my PS2 from 11 years ago haha.

Make's you think how the PS3 will fair, it's got a hell of a lot of work to climb to the top. The PS2 hit it's stride fast and dominated the market for years going on to become the best selling console of all time.

PS3 doesn't seem as dominate as 360 has hung in there, and Microsoft didn't drop it for a new console.

PS3 will likely outlive 360.
