| I enjoyed the anime a lot. Only problem is, it sucked ass. The story was in too many places, nothing really happened, and it just plain did nothing. | |

| How can you talk about EVA's flaws and NOT mention Shinji and his wacky emo quirks. | |

Well it's fine for a while. It builds up for about 17 or so episodes and they set you up for a shit load of things to happen. But then when they get you to a certain point, ALL those set ups drop and nothing happens. The story goes nowhere and there's literally no ending.

| Meh. American EVA fanboys just make it seem that way. It's not even in the top 50 mangas ever sold and the anime only won a few prices. | |

| You can't even compare the ending of InuYasha to this. The only similarity is that they both have are no endings. For christ sake at the end of this they were CLAPPING! | |

My bro told me that there was literally no ending. I really didn't believe him at first when he said no ending but seriously there was NO fucking ending. A lot different then InuYasha.

| Uh...did you people even see the End of Evangelion?
I'm sorry, but you people all completely missed the point of the series. First of all, several polls have been taken in Japan regarding popular anime. Evangelion has usually been ranked every single time. In 2006, for example, it was ranked as the second most popular anime ever, over 10 years after it was released, only to be topped by Fullmetal Alchemist, which was relatively recent in comparison. Don't believe me? Here's the link:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2006-10-13/japan%27s-favorite-tv-anime
Additionally, you guys didn't see the End of Evangelion. The clapping you're talking about is the final episode of the series, which actually makes perfect sense if you see the End of Evangelion, and understand the two endings go hand in hand. Very minor spoiler alert for the next paragraph, so if you haven't seen the ending, you may want to disregard.
The real point of the final episode was for Shinji to find self-actualization, to realize he needed to face reality. The plot didn't matter so much as Shinji finding himself. Inuyasha's anime ended with no resolution whatsoever, but the main point was resolved in Eva's ending. However, the reason why the last two episodes you might have found to be disappointing is because the company was going bankrupt. Thankfully, the anime was so popular they made enough money to really complete the ending with the movie End of Evangelion. If the clapping disappointed you, I'm sure seeing characters being brutally slaughtered, eaten alive, turned to orange juice, strangled, masturbated over, AND having irreparable psychological harm done to them should satisfy your need for an ending.
Seriously, sorry if I sound like an annoying n00b, but did you even finish the anime? |

| End of Evangelion was even worse IMO. I finished the entire thing.
The ending was garbage in the anime and the whole EoE was garbage. It was just depressing as everyone died but Asuka and Shinji. The best part was Misato's rant to Shinji. That was badass but then look what happened right after?
Why do you think they're remaking Evangelion? Because they fucked it up from 21 on.
