2013 release, huh? It better wow the crowd if it's gonna beat an early leading Wii U.

| Eh I never was an xbox person but interested in what Fable Next will be. Does seem like they are waiting a little longer to release the next consoles for the 8th gen. Good I guess....? | |

| I like Xbox and 360, but I've always preferred the Sony and Nintendo consoles over them. Hopefully for their sake they put more effort into the next Xbox instead of rushing it like they did with 360. | |

| There still is enough wood in the 360 bonfire to keep it going for a while. By the time 2013 rolls around, I think people will start saving their cash to save up for this next Microsoft success in home consoles. | |

| Yes, well they would need to have an established player-base and a good amount of games before the next PlayStation comes along. That's really their only means of defence. So it's not that surprising that they're already working on another console. | |

It was really their only thing on PS3. The early jump had everyone flocking to 360 but now Sony knows how to deal with modern consoles. Once PS4 comes out, Microsoft fans will be shitting their pants probably at how good it is.

| A new XBOX, I wonder if this will push Sony on the PS4 project. After all, PS3 isn't really new, come 2012 it'll be 6 years old. I was initially thinking come 2012, or 2013 production of PS2 would stop with hints of PS4 coming. By late 2013 or early 2014 PS4 would unveil, and to fill it's promised 10 year life, Sony would sell both PS4 and PS3 side by side like they currently do with PS3 and PS2.
However, PS2 seems to be much cheaper to produce then PS3. If it's selling for $99. I mean yes, PS3 is cheaper then it was in 2006, but I don't see a PS3 selling for $99 ANY time even remotely soon, if ever. lol.
So if Sony was true about PS3 lasting 10 years, starting 2006, that'll take them up to 2016. Now if the new XBOX can wow people, and coming 2013, that'd be a 3 year lead over Sony. Personally I don't think Sony wants to get left in the dust. So makes you wonder if they'll scrape PS3's 10 year plan and scramble on a PS4, or if they'll push though with PS3 allowing Microsoft a massive 3 year head start, or what. It'd be interesting to see how a new XBOX coming so early will effect things.

| Nah I reckon they'll stick to it, if for no other reason than because they can see what their competition is and make the PS4 that much better. | |

True enough. I wonder. I keep hearing that multi-platform games are generally smoother running on 360 because 360 is generally the lead console as it's easier to program for. If that's the case, anyone think Sony might simplify the PS4 so it's easier to work on then PS3? If Sony brings back BC in PS4 I'm buying one of the damn early models before they remove the feature I actually care about having... unless it's some ridiculous price. Would be awesome having 4 consoles in 1 though, wouldn't you agree. Hmm... this topic was about XBOX when it started. I think I shifted it to Playstation. lol

| Now a 2012 holiday rumor?
More release dates get pushed down, more people should worry. Could mean the next XBOX will be a rushed out, half asses console. With the early 360's having the reported failure rate it did, I doubt Microsoft wants to go through that again.

| I can't say I'm happy with Sony if that rumor is true. I really wanted PS3 to last a lot longer before a new console came out. | |
