| Huh. Looks like I'm the only one who enjoyed the original game. Oh well.
Anyway, more news is going to be announced tomorrow. I don't have high hopes, but I'm not expecting a bomb. I think the only one that completely bombed every expectation was Dirge of Cerberus.

| Some new details. http://www.1up.com/news/final-fantasy-xiii-2-darker-freer Darker is welcome, but I'm not sure about the comment about Vanille and Fang leaving a scar on everyone's hearts. As far as a freer environment, it can only be freer than what the original game was. Still not a lot of high prospects, but I can say that mine aren't as low as the rest. | |

- 1. Years of game development art don't go in a dumpster.
More than half of it went in a dumpster before XIII even came out. - Quote :
- 2. Less time developing art means more time polishing scenarios & gameplay
Not when you have Versus XIII and the new Dissidia on your plate. That would be nice if they can actually pull the polishing process off. It's too bad that they haven't been able to do this after X came out. - Quote :
- 3. Sequels are a financially sound business model. More money means better funding. Some of you act like it's a board of greedy fat cats who're trying to milk you. Everyone is struggling these days.
More money means better funding for bad side projects instead of putting their concentrated efforts into one great game. Square has the potential. - Quote :
- 4. For most of you XIII is actually maybe 5 or 6. But for many people, XIII is actually their first. Don't let you nostalgia over past games ruin it for newer generations of gamers. Nothing can compete with a memory. Remember there were people complaining about you when 7 came out.
Except VII isn't completely linear like XIII. There was a compelling story, amazing characters and an excellent score to go with it. X changed up the battle system and level up system. But guess what? It worked and so it got high rating in that respect. - Quote :
- 5. No one complains when other games get sequels. So...
That's just baseless whining. People complained about the second Dissidia because it was an anniversary game. People also complain when games they don't like get sequels...shocker! - Quote :
- 5-2. ...when you think about it what you're really reacting to is a number. And that's just silly. What if it was call Final Fanasy XIII Crisis Core?
What this gentlemen just said here was just silly. People anticipate and pre-judge the "2" from what its predecessor did. If it was called Final Fantasy XIII Crisis Core, everyone would have the same reaction. - Quote :
- 6: Revenge of the Bemused.
Do we honestly need more negativity? This is just more random whining. No matter what game it is, there is always someone who hates the game and someone that loves it. It's how people are.

| Just got through the demo of this. It's obvious Tri-Ace got their hands in here, because the AI-control system got a sizable overhaul. | |
