Nintendo Wii U info/discussion thread

If anybody cares, here's a good impression of the Wii U by nintendolife:

This hasn't been proven by anyone, but somesites are saying the Wii U is 50% more powerful than the 360 and PS3.

The HD will be nice, but I don't see myself getting too engaged in all the activities they want you to do. What I want is a Twilight Princess HD type of game. Skyward Sword should be interesting at the least, but it will probably be a clusterfuck compared to Twilight Princess.

I don't care really for Blu-ray/DVD for Nintendo, I just need GAMES!!!!!! That's the point of a fucking console (And good internet multiplayer.)

That's fucking ridiculous (The GC part). That means if you want to play SSBB on Wii U, you can't use the GC controller. One screw up after another, Nintendo.

I second that. So long the console works, I don't care if Nintendo paints the damn console pink with frillies on it! I'm more concerned on how the game console will work and how it will attract both hardcore and casual gamers.

And yeah, more games with multiplayer that works would be nice as well!

Wii U doesn't support a GC for controller? If Wii U is limiting itself to ONLY motion control, you can count on me NEVER buying one. I tried motion controls on Wii, despised it with a passion. Considered getting one with a GC controller, but never bothered.

I don't care if it doesn't play DVD's. I have a old PS2, a slim less then a year old, and a DVD player. I'm well and good with DVD devices. Hell, I may have a Blu Ray player before the year is out, I'm considering a PS3 yet again. And I'll have a 360 at the end of the year as well.

Then in 2 or 3 years MS and Sony will release their new consoles. And I'll wait 6 or 7 years into their life span before buying them XD. Unless Sony brings back full BC with all Playstations, then I'll be all over a PS4. lol

There's not a lot of point into buying 360 and PS3 in a short time frame. They share about 80% of their games and PS3 has a lot more exclusives and a lot better ones too now.

God damn it, Nintendo. Your software better make up for this, along with pricing.

I don't think it really matters if the hardware isn't quite as good as the PS3. Wii U is making Nintendo completely jump the shark the way it's progressing. This is to be expected though. Sony is the best hardware company out there. They've got their mark on TVs, Laptops, Audio systems, etc.

Sony should probably just pull out of the handheld market and like Microsoft focus their attention on the consoles. The DS is the portable version of the PS2, in which I doubt anything is going to come close to touching it.

The PSP was a great system otherwise I wouldn't have 73 games for it and as far as DS goes it is great too but oddly enough I have less games for it currently. The 3DS is shaping up to be something good and the Vita well I don't own a vita yet but it looks like it is lacking currently.

Sony needs to step up their marketing and slash the price of the Vita, or Nintendo is going to destroy them this coming generation.

Nintendo will probably beat them out for now anyway. They have a stronger consistent fan base. At least until PlayStation 4 picks up steam after it releases.

Yeah it is a little unfair since Vita almost came out a year after the 3DS but I do not see much in the Vita's future that is all that great except Persona 4: Golden which is a port with added stuff......

Uncharted Golden Abyss was supposed to be pretty good.

I say a system has a good library if it has at least 30 great to excellent games or more during it's run. So at least 5 or more titles a year.So far the Vita has like 2 I would buy right now aside from P4G not too great. I would never buy a system just for one game even if was KH. Sure it might have a big influence but i'd like more variety.

Agreed. The Vita's hardware is impressive as hell. If they pick up steam late game like PS3, I'll probably get one.
