If you don't know already, this is a crossover of Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Hulk (2008), Thor and Captain America. All the cast members relevant to the Avengers will reprise their roles from their respective films (Except Edward Norton as Hulk who is now replaced by Mark Ruffalo). This is directed by Joss Whedon.
I may be going a bit overboard with this, but I believe this has the potential to be one of the best films of all time.

There is nothing to look forward to in the Avengers movie. It's gonna blow. First of all, not all the Avengers are there. Sure, Iron Man, Hulk, Cap, and Thor are there, but where's everyone else? No Black Panther, no Ant-Man or Wasp? Just a cash-in. Just like the other super hero movies to build up to a movie that will fail miserably!

Black Panther was not an original Avenger. Ant-Man and Wasp aren't very interesting anyway. Captain America and Hawkeye more than make up for Ant-Man and Wasp. Iron Man and Iron Man 2 were great movies. Hulk was good and Thor was great. Captain America was very good too.

You're right they should've crammed 10 characters AT THE LEAST in a 2 hour action movie just like cinematic maestro Roland Emmerich.
And lol at cash in.

On a more serious note, if Buffy and Angel are as good as Kaio says then the Avengers film is in very good hands.

I'm well excited for this, and personally I think the reduced numbers is a good thing, it will prevent the movie from getting clustered and all the characters can get a good amount of time.

I have seen and read everything that Whedon's done and there's nothing he's written or directed that was downright bad (except Buffy season 1). However, his storytelling is very love it or hate it, so The Avengers will most likely end up with a lot of people praising it and an even amount of people hating it.

So far I think I'll be on the love it side. These newer Marvel films have been great in comparison to the early to mid 2000s.

This has to be the fourth or fifth time I've had to replace the link to this trailer. I think by now they might not care that it's up on YouTube. Every time I see this trailer, I can't help but think how good this movie can turn out.

Well, the trailer is explosive and kick-ass... Maybe I'll watch the movie when it comes out in theaters on a really shitty weekend just to watch the special effects. But my opinion still stands as a big hype and a cash-in...
By the way, Thor, like in his movie, is donning his ultimate Thor look. Same with Hawkeye and Nick Fury... But no one else is in their ultimate form. Gives you a lot to think about continuity-wise. Guess we'll have to wait for what the story will be like.

Nor what the look has to do with continuity, because this movie takes place in neither 616, not Ultimate. It takes place in the movieverse.

They're just random numbers to differentiate realities. Regular is 616, Ultimate is 1610, etc.
