I personally liked Melee better because of the gameplay speed.

First off, Marth is faster than Falco (proven). Second, edited.

I agree, but lets not get too opinionated here. Dual likes brawl better so we have to respect his opinion.

Thank you for the respecting of the opinion, but don't you think character reaction speed is a bit slower for melee. Imean I've been plying brawl for a while now, and when i played melee once, I was disgusted with mr game and watches roll speed..........So yea if you like melee, you like melee

Only a few character's reaction speed increased as opposed.

That's not true, Zero and you know it
The list of characters from Melee to Brawl:
Bowser Captain Falcon Donkey Kong Falco Fox Game and Watch Gannondorf Ice Climbers Jigglypuff Kirby Link Luigi Mario Marth Ness Peach Pikachu Samus Shiek Yoshi Zelda
The only difference is the speed of Fox's neutral AAA combo, his Fair and Dair. Other than that he is faster in melee. L cancel and Wavedash also help melee be way faster.

I say it really depends on the playing style of the opponents, if you are a really fast player that expects the characters to react instantly then you go for Melee. If you want realistic projectile motion and an endless number of 1-player possibilities your reach for Brawl.
Also, Melee responds faster because there is only one controller option, each button has a set signal. After that signal is received the game runs down the list to see if that's possible then sees what graphic it gets and does it.
Brawl, however, has four(i think...) options that the game has to translate into a signal to the character's code line, then the game determines what action is performed along with the graphic to use, then you get your movement.

That doesn't have anything to do with how fast the gameplay is. Melee had a lot of bugs and they were exploited for cool stuff that also helped the gameplay. Brawl didn't have too many bugs (I dunno if a DAC is one) and perhaps to ensure that they slowed down the gameplay and stuff.

Well it might be true if it were a retro console like the SNES but the Wii wouldn't have gameplay problems like that. The proof is in Brawl +.
