I'm currently re-watching the episodes I saw in 4kids version with the new and improved Funpiece. I remember I got up to the Alabasta arc and never finished it.

Water 7 is the best arc.

Zoro is my second favorite, he's just so badass. Sanji is cooler though, in my opinion.

I'm thinking on it. This show is good from what I'm hearing.

I've started buying the Viz manga. Aside from Zolo and other 4Kids shenanigans (Merry Go, Tweet Tweet Fruit) it's okay. Translation is good and fun to read.
My biggest gripe with it is the pseudo-swearing (Blast! You fiend! Scoundrel! Darn!) and the covering-up of Bon Clay being a transvestite. Especially that last part since it largely takes away from my personal favourite non-Strawhat character.
This manga is rated T for Teen. People who read this can handle some curses and a crossdresser.

Zolo was a weird change. I think 4kids didn't want to use Zoro because it's been used. Much like they did with Ryu -> Ryoh in Shaman King. I actually prefer Ryoh because Ryu is overused. Zoro>Zolo though.

Warship Island arc was the worst arc. It wasn't nearly as interesting as the others so far.

They should have left it out. The only thing I really liked was Erik's power, but Erik was such a deuche.

Ironically, 4Kids did cut it out.
They also cut out Laboon and Little Garden though. >_>

I noticed that. I thought I was going crazy when I saw all this extra stuff that I never saw before.

As if you would cut out Little Garden...
But yeah, I rather liked Eric's power.

As an add on, there is yet another example of Zoro having the only good voice in the 4kids dub. Upon watching this scene, it's obvious that Marc Diraison (Zoro) is way out of place in this cast. All this terrible acting and then Zoro opens his mouth and the entire scene is different.
Also I just finished the Alabasta arc. This is easily in my top 10 anime.

Since when do iceboigs make whale noises? And since when do they totally dissipate from a cannonball 1/50 it's size?

Since 4Kids.
Related: 4Kids said a week or so ago that they're going back to aquiring and dubbing anime.
