Maria hands the backpack to Sandra.

Zeik is still in the sewers. Suddenly he takes a right at an intersection and sees a ladder at the end.

Zeik: There it is. I knew this would be the smart way.

Sandra takes the backpack in her hand.

Sandra: Maria... thank you. How are you feeling?

Meanwhile everything is going smoothly for Damien as he makes good pace being lead by the guard, he closes in on his destination.

Maria: Tired...and wet...

Malik facepalms.

Malik: Of course you feel wet. It is raining outside.

At the government HQ, there is a soldier in Elena's office.

Elena: Report on the building.
Soldier: There seems to be signs that it was manually burned down.
Elena: I see. What else did you find?
Soldier: Some people were found on site. We positively identified them as mutants.
Elena: So then they are responsible?
Soldier: We don't know. There were many of them and they were fleeing the scene with an injured one.
Elena: Then it probably wasn't them. They like to stick their noses in other people's business. Do what you can to find out who did it.
Soldier: Yes, ma'am.

Raven is crawling through the air duct. He is navigating it.

Raven: Now, the room should be close. I made a few wrong turns, but I managed to get the right track.

Sandra: You might want to put on some dry clothing. And Maria, this really means a lot to me. Again, thank you.

Troy comes over to them.

Troy: She gets the point alright.

Sandra doesn't pay much mind to Troy and opens the backpack to get the photo, seeing her mother and father.

Sandra: I made it mother... father, I hope some day I could come for you.

Damien has since closed in on the room.

Damien: After you sir.
Guard: Of course.

As Damien closes in on the room, Zeik climbs up the ladder and exits the room that leads to the sewer. Zeik sees Damien coming with the soldier and quickly enters the room. Zeik draws his sword, expecting the leader to have a bullet-proof vest. Zeik slowly walks up.

???: Where did you come from?
Zeik: The hallway.
???: Oh a funny guy.

Maria starts to fall over again, overly tired and ends up falling towards Katy again.

Malik: Katy, would you mind taking Maria to her bed? Her room is the last one on the left in the hallway that is to the right of here.

Katy catches Maria.

Katy: Sure.

Katy gets Maria to her room quickly where she's able to lay down. When Katy comes back she walks over to Sandra.

Katy: Family photo?
Sandra: *nod* Yeah...

Sandra lets her see the photo.

Katy: Looks like nice people.
Sandra: Yes, there where.
Katy: Where?

Sandra starts to recall what happened to Katy and explain why the photo meant so much to here.

Damien is lead into the room to see Zeik already there.

Damien: Well looks like you was quickest after all. *to Zeik*

The man looks at both Damien and Zeik and gets ready to pull a gun.

???: I know why you're here. But I won't let you have me.
??? 2: (From the air duct) Good. If you know why we're here, then we can get down to business.

The air vent above the man kicks out and Raven drops down.

Raven: I've been watching you for about a half minute now. Waiting for you to say something incriminating.
???: Raven. You're here too?
Raven: Good to see you again. It's unfortunate you won't see any of us again. Oh, and don't even think about pulling that gun. You already know my power and so you know it's useless.

The man pushes an alarm button on his desk.

???: Can you handle this?

About 20 Guards enter the room. Zeik puts his sword back in the sheath and grabs his 2 mini-uzis, facing them.

Zeik: Don't move.
Guard1: Heh. We have you outnumbered.
Zeik: And what makes you think I couldn't take you out if I wanted to?
Guard2: Protect the leader! Do whatever it takes to get past them!
Zeik: Raven, you handle it from here. I'll meet you back at the rendezvous point.

Zeik pushes through the guards and runs out of the room.

Guard17: Get him!

Stupidly, all of the guards but one (Guard2) follow Zeik back into the sewers. Zeik starts to lead the guards on a wild goose chase, taking random turns in the sewers.

Guard: Did they really just do that? I'm surrounded by idiots.
Raven: Damien. Think you can handle the remaining guard?

The leader takes this opportunity to pull out his gun. Immediately, Raven charges at him and grabs his hand.

Raven: Don't think I ever took my attention off you.

With his free hand, he pulls out his sword.

Raven: Now, how should we go about this, huh?

Damien brings the last remaining guard under his control fairly soon after.

Damien: Weak minded fools.

Back at the MDC Sandra has told Katy her story.

Katy: So this picture is all you got left to remember them by. I see why you wanted so much.
Sandra: What about you, you haven't given a proper introduction yet have you?
Katy: No, but we'll get to that soon. Long story short, my brother needs to be stopped, and I can't do it alone. I hadn't expected to find the MDC so quick, but I'm glade I'm here.

Sarah watches Maria as Katy brings her to her room.

Sarah: Always overdoing it. That's my sister.

Maria has fallen asleep on her bed right after Katy put her down.

Malik: Considering you helped us back there, you are more than welcome to join the MDC.

In the sewers, Zeik has already started to lose the guards with the random turns.

Zeik: Man they are stupid. They actually fell for that old trick.

???: Please don't!
Raven: Sorry, but the boss doesn't want you alive any longer. You've terrorized people for far too long.
???: No don't!

Raven runs the leader through with his sword. He falls to the floor, although still alive.

Raven: This base is officially under General Elena's control as of now. Call off the attack against Zeik immediately.

Katy: Thank you.
Troy: Well I think you may as well give us a better understanding of yourself since Malik is here.
Katy: Right.

With Malik, Troy, Sarah, and Sandra around, Katy gets ready to tell her story.

Katy: Well my name is Katy Karma, I'm not a local to this city, but traveled here for help.
Sandra: Your brother.
Katy: Yes, Jin Karma. I don't know why, but he never seemed to like. Even when I was a child he never liked me. As I grow up I started to understand that he wasn't a good person and one day I caught him working... well, lets just say some bad dealings. He always had mother and father stressed out, he wouldn't never talk to me, and if he did, he treated me like shit. So I had enough, I reported him in, and lead authorities to him. He got imprisoned for about 2 years on what he was caught for. I wish he would of gotten more, but most of the evidence was gone by the time we got back to him. Pretty much after that it went from bad to worse. He started coming after me, I had to lean to fight to protect myself, and the family. One day he got me one on one, which went badly on my end. It's gotten to the point where I know if I didn't get help something bad was going to happen, so here we are.

Sarah: That's really too bad. It's bad enough to lose family due to death but it's worse when you just lose them because they want to kill you.

Malik suddenly gets a serious look on his face.

Malik: Alright, whenever Katy goes out, I want somebody with her. It doesn't matter who as long as she has help for if Jin manages to find her. I'm going to tell Seto and have him tell Ken and Erona, whoever sees Maria first can tell her.

Malik leaves his office and knocks on Seto's door.

HW: Alright, since you really want to help people I'll teach you some fighting. It won't be much but it will be better than nothing.

HW leads Yanou to a training room.

HW: Show me what you can do.
Yanou: Alright.

Troy: So now we got to babysit the new girl... newer girl, as well.
Sandra: That bother you?
Troy: *shrug* It's what we do. I rather kick back and have a beer, but whatever.
Katy: *to Sarah* Yea it sucks. I just to stop him before he hurts anyone else. I gotta say I was a bit afraid to leave home. Mother are father are pretty well up their in the age department, so with me out of town, I actually hope Jin chased me.

Seto opens his door with the quick release.

Seto: Ah, Malik. Is there something wrong?

Malik walks into Seto's room and closes the door.

Malik: Hey Seto. Just letting you know, if the newest recruit Katy Karma heads out, I want somebody go with her even if it's you. Her brother, who can apparently control Electricity, is after her and she controls water. Please let Erona and Ken know.

Katy: So I guess I should get to know some of you guys better. I know Troy has fire, what are some you other guys abilities.
Sandra: I'm telekinetic. Maria in there controls magic, and Malik controls Steve's.

Seto: I see. I think she should stay at base for a while to get comfortable with who she can. Then we'll pair her up with who she feels most comfortable hanging with. Erona, Ken and I are going to investigate that building tomorrow morning. It could be dangerous and so I can't have another person on our squad for the time being. Any more than 3 can complicate things.

Seto begins thinking for a few moments.

Seto: If Ken could generate electricity, he'd be an ideal partner for Katy. But since he can't do that yet, we'll have other options. If I had the right components, I could transmute water into oil which would be good for Troy. But having the right components for that isn't exactly practical in battle.

Sarah: As a slight secondary power, Maria can make objects levitate if she focuses on them for long enough. However if an object is heavy, it's harder on her and if she loses her concentration, it stops working. I have superhuman breath, but I can only inhale effectively right now, and a Sonic Scream...but if I scream for too loud or too long, I get a headache. Also I'm omni-linguistic but it doesn't really help much because we don't have the personnel to send me to other countries.

Also I believe I located another spellbook for Maria, and if my research is right, it includes a spell that sends out electricity, and a spell that sends gusts of wind, which can make dangerous combinations. Sarah could use the water to send sound waves faster, which could be another ideal partnership.

Kay: Super human breath and sonic screams, cool. Telekinetic sounds like it could be useful for a lot of things.
Sandra: It has it's uses in and outside combat.
Katy: Exactly what I meant. Well, who else is on the team that I haven't met, or is this everyone?

Sarah: There is Erona, who controls wind. Ken, who controls magnetism. And finally the other co-leader, Seto, can use Alchemy. I believe there is another member, Zeik, but nobody knows what he can do. He is almost never here because he is also a double agent in the army.

Seto: Yes. That does sound plausible. Although the person would have to be connected to the water somehow for the sound waves to really be more effective. If she is comfortable with Maria, then she should definitely pair with her and Sarah. The three of them can be a great combination.

Katy: A double agent. Maybe I'll ask him myself if I meet him some day.
Sandra: Two new members with a day, looks like MDC is growing. By the way, we need to get you a room to.
Katy: I suppose so, I could be around a while.
