The end of 153 was such an awesome scene.

Oh you mean, when they play We Are at the end of the episode? Yeah that was pretty cool

It's been out for a month or so. Next set comes out at the end of August and the one after that in October.

I watched a couple of the newer dubbed episodes and they're still doing solid work

The stuff that's coming out now is actually what they dubbed first.

Right, but they're doing a much better job than when they dubbed it first

Skypiea is one of my favorite arcs in OP

Skypiea is still the arc closest to a real pirate adventure.

That is true. Skypiea did bring out the real pirate thing

Well I decided to actually go on to the CN episodes. While I do that, I read the manga while the video loads so I get a double feel for the episode. The place I'm watching it at now put the CN Funi audio into the Japanese video so those edits are now gone. Now the only shenanigans are Zolo, Merry Go, Heatfist Trayce (LAWL), etc.

So in January the DVDs are going to end Skypiea and completely overshadow what they originally dubbed. I can't wait to finish it. Still absolutely loving the dub. I watch videos on YouTube all the time and I see massive hate for the Funi dub. I see nothing wrong with it at all.
*SPOILERS*
One of their biggest gripes is with Luffy. I personally think Clinkenbeard does a better Luffy than the original Japanese. There isn't quite enough emotion difference in the Japanese. Take this scene for example.
Look at the lighthearted idiotic tone that he comes across with? That's exactly who Luffy is.
This is a bit less lighthearted than Colleen's Luffy but still comes across as idiotic. I like the Funi one better merely because Luffy has more emotion difference.
You have to love this scene and I think Colleen nails it. He has incredible lighthearted scenes. And now for this scene.
Look how serious Luffy was there in the beginning. He came across as intense and very serious, but then the leak thing happened and he quickly switched to that old lighthearted and funny Luffy. Colleen switched perfectly, and she actually sounds like a teenage man.

Personally, I like Luffy's Japanese voice a lot better than Colleens. That's the only voice in funimation's cast I don't like.

Colleen's voice was cast by Toei itself. They also wanted her to do the rough, scratchy voice she does voicing Luffy.

The raspy voice is perfect for Luffy I think. Is that true about Toei?

Yes, Colleen said so on the One Piece Podcast.
Her voice is smoother in the latest trailer.

Rightstuf was on top of things this month. Today is the new release and I got my copy of DVDs in the mail already. I was genuinely shocked but happy at the same time. About to pop them in and watch them.

Just a warning to all the Americans here who are still self-entitled enough to download their episodes when they're all available on FUNi's site and Hulu anyway.
