Started One Piece

I never realized that Zoro had Marc Diraison as his 4kids VA. He was really good for him even though Sabat is a better match.

"Why he do dat?" Lol. But yah, I always liked Marc Diraison as Zoro.

So I decided that after I catch up on Bleach, I'll be catching up on One Piece. I started with Naruto and then moved to Bleach. Once I'm caught up in them, I'll have caught up in the Big 3 now and will read each weekly.

I'm continuing this now, in the sub.

I thought you'd never say that. The sub aint so bad. Particularly Robin's voice is really good in the original Japanese dub. Same with Nami (I think she sounds like Luci if she were Japanese).

Yeah, it's not all that bad. Luffy's voice is OK, but I prefer Colleen's voice so much more. FUNimation did so well with the casting. I mean, they literally nailed every important character.

Robin and Chopper's Japanese voices are horrible, but the rest of the main cast is great.

I don't like Choppers but Robin's isn't that bad. But of course Stephanie Young does a better Robin.

I still don't like Colleen's Luffy. That's not to say it's bad, I can see that it fits him, I just don't like it. I think all the Japanese voices are fine, but the only two I like better than their Funimation counterparts are Luffy's and Sanji's. Not that I dislike Sanji's English voice either, it's one of my favourite of the English Straw Hat voices along with Sabat's Zoro. I like both of Zoro's voices equally.

I'll be interested to see what Brook and Franky sound like.

Well Brook will have to wait a while and with Franky the FUNi dub still has to get past the whole Davy Back stuff. I wonder if the dub will be able to do Oyabin's laugh. Man, I was so happy to see him get fucked up by his own beam.

FUNi Franky is in the Unlimited Adventure game. He sounds a bit like a surfer dude, but not in a bad way like Sabat's Yamcha back in the day.



Obviously needs some polishing, but there's potential for super awesomeness.

Well he certainly has had time to improve on his Franky voice kinda like how the entire Straw Hat cast got better when they started doing the DVDs.

The other actors actually got to voice more of the characters. Seitz hasn't voiced Franky since 2007, because they haven't started dubbing season 4 yet.

That's not bad, it fits him.

Oyabin never knows when to quit getting his ass kicked. I hope one time he gets his face smashed in by Luffy.

Also Porche (Spelling?) sounds like she's in a constant state of being horny.

His name is Foxy, oyabin is just another word that isn't translated, it means boss.

I'm loving Water 7 so far. Luffy vs Usopp was amazing.

Luffy vs. Usopp is one of the best moments in the series.

Definitely. I really liked when the Straw Hats kicked the shit out of the Franky Pirates just before that too. The Davy Back Fight was fun and all, but it didn't feel like real One Piece. After Aokiji came into the picture it kicked back into that awesome plot.

Doesn't help that Davy Back had a ton of filler in it.

I noticed that thanks to Buu's filler guide. Is Water 7 still your favorite arc? So far I still like Alabasta the best.

Lol...I love how CP9 were supposed to be this big mysterious group that no one was supposed to know about yet many people ended up knowing and they just went and revealed themselves so quickly.
